Odds feed
A structured data feed that publishes betting prices and related market information.
REST API
An API style where clients request resources over HTTP using predictable URLs and methods.
Websocket
A persistent connection used to receive updates without repeatedly polling an endpoint.
Latency
The delay between a market change and when your system receives or acts on it.
Settlement
The process of resolving a betting market after the event outcome is known.
Market ID
A stable identifier used to reference a specific betting market in an API.
Line movement
A change in betting odds or handicap lines over time.
Overround
The bookmaker margin implied by all prices in a market.
Lay betting
Betting against an outcome, typically on a betting exchange.
Arbitrage
A strategy that attempts to cover all outcomes at prices that imply a positive return.
Expected value
A way to estimate the average long-run value of a bet based on probability and payout.
Request limit
A cap on how many API calls can be made in a period.
Betting agent
A service or broker that may provide access to bookmakers, exchanges or markets.
Betting exchange
A marketplace where users can back and lay outcomes against each other.
Matched betting
A workflow that uses bookmaker offers and exchange lay bets to reduce directional exposure.
Prediction market
A market structure where participants trade contracts tied to future outcomes.
